I Think That Means I Have An Overlay
posted by Absinthe | 4:15 PM
Dr. Pauly alerts me that I’m listed at 2500-1 to win this year’s WSOP Main Event. I was gonna be all proud about this until I realized the following:
1. I’m by no means the blogger with the best odds (Matros and Shaniac both have and deserve a better line at 2000-1 – Matros has been on TV, fer chrissakes).
2. Also at 2000-1 and therefore estimated to have a much better chance of winning: Maureen Feduniak, Robert Varkonyi, Tobey Maguire, Tiffany Williamson, Shannon Sharpe and Yevgeny Kafelnikov. I’ve played video games featuring three of these people.
3. I’m not actually playing. Especially not with the way I flamed out of the $200K Guarantee this Sunday.

If you are getting those odds to win when you aren’t even playing, just imagine what they would be if you did play.

There’s no way in hell Robert Varkonyi is a favorite over you to win….even if you aren’t playing.

Bah, you played fine… the last hand maybe not so much but its debatable, don’t let it bother you so much.
