No Guts, Slight Chance Of Glory
posted by Absinthe | 6:38 PM
For all my whingeing about the WSOP’s terrible structures (every event over $1000 at Commerce that I played had a much friendlier approach to blinds and levels), there’s still a part of me that wanted to sit down and play. I resisted the temptation to chase bracelets because it’s not a great investment of bankroll, given the extra expense of staying in Vegas for the duration. Also because I still labor under the faint suspicion that I’m just a lucky son of a bitch and I’d be better off not pushing it.
Glyphic, however, has more faith in me than I’d expect from anyone, and for some odd reason has decided to back me instead of taking the seat he won in the Stars blogger freeroll. So I’m playing in event #37, a $1500NL buyin event, which conveniently abuts the main event, so should I get extraordinarily lucky and satellite my way in for cheap…

If I won one of those seats I’d stake you too.

Oddsmakers are the soothsayers of gamblers. It’s just a matter of time before you have a bracelet and then the rest of us will follow. Good luck.
