    Frakkin’ Sweet

posted by Absinthe | 5:09 PM

I’ve been idly running episodes of Battlestar Galactica in the background as I attempt to make some sense of the titanic jumble of stuff that is our apartment. In the second episode of the first season there’s a showdown over a game of Pyramid/Triad, a pokerlike game invented for the original series, which looks simple enough to learn once you get past the vagaries of shuffling hexagonal cards.

Getting a deck seems the only likely obstacle for the truly nerdy gambler. Where would a prospective Tauron Hold’Em player get their hands on a deck of hexagonal cards?

    eBay.

Are these regular cards that are hexagons instead of rectangles? I had a deck like this when I was a kid. They were disney or bucsh gardens or something like that. They looked like paper drink coasters instead of cards.

Awesome post. Count me in your pyramid poker league. Watching you play poker still reminds me of seeing the Pegasus explode. LOL.
