Special To The Austin Contingent
posted by Absinthe | 8:52 PM
Those of you with a passing interest in gambling might like to know that Austin Film Fest is putting on a special screening of The Hot Shoe, a documentary about card-counting in general and the MIT card-counting teams in particular – Andy Bloch is one of the film’s subjects. It is a) free and b) at the Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek, which I haven’t been to, but if it’s like the other Alamos it’s worth the trip. Free admission at the Alamo = more money to spend on beer at the Alamo.
[late update - probably I should tell you when it is, no? Thursday, October 28th at 7:30 post meridien, which is either tomorrow, today or some point in the near-to-distant past, depending on when you're reading this.]
[even later update - Thursday, SEPTEMBER 28th. Tonight. Thursday October 28th won't occur for a couple of years yet. Wow, did I screw this up.]

October 28th? How is it the near-to-distant past when it’s currently September?

Maybe he doesn’t know it’s September, the WSOP wasn’t as long ago as it seemed.

My birthday is October 27th, and I *know* it’s on a Friday. Why I didn’t catch this little error last night…I blame Wheaton.
