Half The Friday I Thought It Was

I had it in my head that today was a $1k event, but it’s a $500 instead. I’m practically ahead already!
Not feeling bad about my early exit on Wednesday. The best hand I got in the level and a half I played was A8o. Which as it turns out was the best preflop hand in play, but I would have lost to a smaller stack’s A3 on the A39 flop and been crippled even earlier. Anyway. Going out the way I did was almost worth it for the tournament director’s call of the action. “Ryan is all-in, Lance calls. Lance has a pair of aces, Ryan has …” “…” “Uh, Ryan has five-six offsuit.” (Cue stunned silence from the other six players.)
Sometimes I look at my cards just for show. That was one of those times. I would have burst out laughing but I just want these guys to think I’m a little crazy, not a lot. And to answer the question, yes, I’d do it again. Probably the guy with the aces would too, though.
